As normal, we have been browsing the Internet for interesting content to add to our Workplace Depot news page, and today we have found a good one!
Although technically, this is an American appreciation day, we couldn’t help but get involved with a bit of bubble wrap; something that is probably used a lot more than we think in our everyday lives.
Apparently, the aim of Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day is recognising the stages it takes to actually create this product that can serve many purposes.
Wrap it up
Obvious uses include: aiding those moving house when packing up and moving fragile objects and allowing us to send parcels overseas safely and securely. However, other uses that could come in extremely handy include those such as: protecting your wind shield on a frosty evening using a sheet of bubble wrap, keeping your pets warm by insulating dog/cat beds and houses and how about using a couple of sheets in an arts and crafts session with the kids?
Of course, when a lot of us get our hands on a piece of bubble wrap, even if it’s supposed to be used for something of importance, we can’t resist having a few pops. If you’re looking to feed this addiction, why not have a play on this bubble wrap game I’ve discovered – although probably best to wait until you get home from work, you might be at it all afternoon!
With this in mind, since 2001, an American radio station named Spirit FM has been holding annual events including bubble wrap popping relay races and fashion design contests; I think I might have seen a few makeshift dresses made out of bubble wrap in my time…
